Privacy Policy

Dual Language Library respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you use the Dual Language Library app, why it is used, and the choices available to you.

1. Information We Collect

You can use parts of Dual Language Library without creating an account.

Account information. If you create an account using email and password, your email address and authentication information are processed to create and secure your account. If you choose Sign in with Apple, authentication information supplied through Apple is used to sign you into your account. Depending on your Sign in with Apple choices, Apple may provide a private relay email address instead of your personal email address.

Learning information. When you are signed in, Dual Language Library may store your selected learning language; saved words, translations and pronunciations; books or stories associated with your reading progress; current reading position; progress and completion status; and timestamps associated with reading progress.

Subscription information. Purchases and Plus+ subscriptions are processed through Apple's App Store using StoreKit. Dual Language Library receives information needed to determine whether you have an active Plus+ entitlement. We do not receive or store your payment card details.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use information to create, authenticate and maintain your account; provide and synchronise learning features; save vocabulary and reading progress; remember learning preferences; provide Plus+ features; restore purchases; provide password recovery and account management; respond to support, privacy and deletion requests; and operate, secure and maintain the service.

3. Service Providers

Supabase. Supabase provides backend services including account authentication and cloud storage of account-related learning information.

Apple. Apple provides services including Sign in with Apple and App Store purchases and subscriptions.

These providers may process information as necessary to provide their respective services and are subject to their own privacy and security obligations.

4. Advertising and Tracking

Dual Language Library does not use your personal information for third-party advertising. Based on the services currently integrated into the app, Dual Language Library does not track you across other companies' apps or websites for advertising purposes.

5. Data Retention

Account-related information is retained while necessary to provide your account and the service. Learning information may remain stored while your account is active so saved vocabulary and reading progress can be restored. Information may also be retained where reasonably necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse or enforce applicable agreements.

6. Account and Data Deletion

You can request deletion of your account directly within Dual Language Library using the account deletion feature. You may also contact privacy@nudgepay.uk with a privacy or deletion request.

When an account is deleted, information associated with it will be deleted or anonymised where appropriate, except information that must be retained for legitimate legal, security or regulatory reasons.

7. Your Choices

You can choose whether to create an account and whether to use Sign in with Apple or email authentication where available. You may remove saved information using app functionality and may delete your account in the app. App Store subscriptions can be managed through your Apple account and device subscription settings.

8. Children's Privacy

Dual Language Library is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children in circumstances where parental consent would be legally required. If you believe a child has provided personal information inappropriately, please contact us.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect information handled through Dual Language Library. However, no internet-based service or electronic storage system can guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the app, its services or applicable requirements change. Material updates will be published with an updated effective date.
